The Shepherd - Frederick Forsyth
Novellas
are often a challenge for established authors, especially the ones who are
accustomed to write big novels spanning over periods entangled with multiple
characters. One among such is “The Shepherd” by the master
storyteller Frederick Forsyth. Beautifully crafted and smartly conceptualized.
“The
Shepherd” can actually be termed as a masterpiece in the genre of short
Novellas.
What
actually differentiates this book is the fact it is a combination of text and
beautifully animated scenes which add to the overall visualization of the
events. It is very clear that Forsyth has taken a lot of information from his
own career during his days prior to becoming a journalist and author. The
language has been very cautiously used to cover the surrounding mystery. The
technical terms may be hindrance for reader not accustomed to Frederick’s
writing style. The detailing is apt for the story at hand.
“The
Shepherd” unlike Forsyth’s other works, is a departure from his
espionage crime thriller sagas. It gives a look into what really is life all
about. The animated sketches tell a story of its own which is sure pleasure.
I've read this, it's great.
